I finished our project and on last Friday, we presented our presentation and poster board.

Today, Team D.O.R.A finally finished their presentation and their poster board. We are just relaxing now and we are preparing to present tomorrow. D O and A worked on the poster board and I, R, am blogging todays blog .

Today Team DORA finished their presentation and are about to work on their poster board. D worked on cutting out their papers. R and O worked on the presentation and we are excited to present soon. D worked on placing the cut out papers onto the board. And A was  absent

Today we are setting up are  our presentations, taking turns writing the presentations, we are still setting up are poster boards.

 We went through a lecture. Our teacher decided a due date for a project and a celebration since we have worked so long.

 We  typed  up more up more things for our poster board, we looked up treatments and medication for depression. We looked up side effects  on that medication, and on depression.

April 7, 2015

 We are done with our research paper and our science packet. In other words, we are improving our poster board. As the rest of group did nothing as usual, I worked with the teacher to help print out the pictures for our board. But, the print stopped.

3-19-15

 D work on hypothesis and R worked on the abstract. So, in other words, we finished the packet and now officially done. I learned how screen shot today and screenshot our graph and chart of our results.

I summarized the survey. R and D were finishing up with the packet and figured out what makes people depressed through our survey results. The project is getting stressful by the minute.

 We are making D & A do more work than before. Our brain models are finally done! R & D were arranging our presentation board.

After the argument with Jennifer Moses, we are not eligible to attend the LA County Science Fair. :( We are making our poster board, and it is going well. Next time we will be working on our bibliography.

Today we were stuck on the LA science fair website. We are still preparing our board and we have yet to print our paper for our board. Unfortunately, another slow day was today.

 I am finishing up the abstract for the poster and also, I decided to print out our results from our anonymous survey to display. A, R and, D are continuing to paint both of our brains.

I wasn't here on Monday,but what I heard from A and D painted the brain models. Now, R is designing  our poster for the science fair. I am blogging and writing the abstract. Sadly, R is questioning if he's going to the science fair.

02-26-15

Today, we had a slow day. A and D are not going the the county science fair. R and I are going and we are now working on our abstract. Also, our brain is taking forever to dried and is shrinking slowly.

 We analyzed our results. Sadly, some people didn't take the survey seriously :(  This is how each team member felt about the survey session...

• D- It was mildly good.
• O-It was pretty good, people coorparated well.
• R- It was great, our survey was a success
• A-It wasn't completed

Unfortunely, some people decided to not take the survey. Now, we decided to survey our teacher and signing them up.

Today, we are doing our survey on depression. I think its going to go great. Our team feels very confident. If it goes well and if everything goes as planned, we would come out with a great survey with great results.

  We are drying our brain model. I am filling out a paper that contains:

•  links to both of our surveys
• the classes that each teammate is assigned to
• time for each class to do our survey

 We delayed the survey and decided to do it on next Friday. Today was pretty much a very slow day and we are now done with both brain models.

All of Team D.O.R.A were here today. Also,we display our surveys during the end of math class. Nearly all of us are representing our class, except A. D and I filled in the inside of the brain, the design is are lines.

2-06-15

 Team D.O.R.A move the schedule of the brain model to Monday because we were missing cream of tartar. The cream of tartar allows the our mixture to not get sticky and gross. 

2-12-15

We finished our outside-of-the-brain model. Unfortunately, it is medium but, once it dies, it will become smaller. A searched up on what the brain looks like ,on the outside and inside, on depression. Tomorrow , we start the inside model and probably the outside-of-the-brain make it bigger.

 Team D.O.R.A went back to our brain model.  We are making two brains- one that shows the outside and one that shows the inside. Also, we have decided on what day and time. Our survey will distributed on Friday during each of our math classes.

Today, we started on our brain model. The mixture looks like pancake batter and it's mushy yet clean. Team D.O.R.A has decided on what day we distribute our anonymous depression survey to the rest of 8th grade. We decided it will be on Friday.

We researched brain model, and we decided the batter one with home ingredients. We finished our survey monkey.  D and A worked on researched how the brain looks while you're depression and not depressed. R and I were looking at how to video at ehow.

2-4-15

 Today,D and I finished two of the surveys and it is successful. We are deciding  who will be our survey-takers on  survey monkey. Then, R and A researched the right and left side of the brain. The left side is logical and focus more on math and science. Meanwhile, the right side is creative and focus more on arts and music.

Today A and D researched drug abuse ,alcohol and addictions. Some drug abuse comes from depression. People try to stop ,but when they get started, they will try their hardest to quit. R and I  were working on our survey on Survey Monkey,but we had to make to two despite me not paying a plan. Meanwhile, A and D were on another website called U Lifeline.

Today ,we researched differences in depression and bipolar disorder. People diagnosed with depression often lie to someone and say that they aren't depressed. People ignore one another to stop people for getting involved. We also researched the side effects.Some people often injure or/and self harm themselves ,commit suicide, or just have an addiction - commonly drugs or/and alcohol

  We went on website called Survey Monkey to make our survey.  The survey will involve questions that will ask our survey takers if they have the symptoms of depression.  Our depression survey will be given to a select grade of classes.  Along with questioning the takers if they have some of the causes or symptoms of depression, we will also ask about their age, race and gender ,but not their names.
   Team DORA found two new sources for our research. One is the website of the American Psychological Association and we found more symptoms. The other one is the website of the National Institute of Mental Health and we found the risks , treatment, and more depressive disorders (in simple terms - different ways of depression).

Introduction

  Welcome to the blog of Team D.O.R.A. Team D.O.R.A consist four people named Miguel, Sade, Juan and Yaszelyn. This project is basically about the cause and effects of depression. Through this project, we will show the causes and effects of depression. Along with, how to treat it, too.We want people to see the causes and effects of depression and how serious it is. Team D.O.R.A plan to demonstrate on how depression effects on both the brain and face of a person.
   We researched depression on children and teenagers. We also researched the symptoms that caused by depression. We are going to make a brain model. We researched a bit of information on the brain. The websites used so far are WebMD and wikipedia.
